very much to Emma Harkin for sending in her baby sign story
regarding her son Archer. "We have been
signing for sometime now, a good 10 months. Archer is now
17months and signs just about all the words in our little
book. His first sign was "milk". Here is a list
of the signs he now does:
Now he signs a whole list including, milk, car, book,
ball, cat, house, sun
eat, drink, bird, kangaroo, pain, rain, toilet, sun and
teddy.
We also have our own version of "rabbit"
- two hands sitting up on our head to make ears. He has
also come up with "cold" which is two clenched
fists that he shakes from side to side."
"I love seeing his face light up when I understand
what he is trying to say, it is especially funny when we
are in the dairy isle of the supermarket and he signs "milk"
with such enthusiasm and says out aloud something that to
everyone else sounds very much like "MOO" (but
I know it is him trying to say milk!).
