sign story regarding her son Kaelen.
"Well, after 4 months my son finally signed to
me!! He is now 10 months old and today I asked him if he
wanted his drink or "eat" (food).
I did the sign for each, holding the relevant item,
then held them both up and he signed "eat"! I
nearly died so triple-checked just to be sure that's what
he'd done. Sure enough, each time, he said "eat".
After a while, he changed his sign and, whilst it looked
as if he was waving, I realised his hand was stiff so I
held up his drink and he reached out for it - he was, as
I suspected, signing "drink"!
Kaelen 10 months
I told my family and friends that Kaelan had started
to sign back to me but, whilst they politely nodded, I don't
think they believed me....until my sister gave him his dinner
one night and he signed to her!."
