The best thing about Australian Baby Hands are the amazing
stories I receive every week. Narrelle Mannaerts wonderful
story shows how clearly babies can think and communicate
if they just have the right tools.
"Hi, I just wanted to share a story.
I first discovered baby sign language
when i was visiting a friend and her baby was in the high
chair signing “more food”.
I was very impressed so we bought the
baby hands books and charts and started teaching my baby
sign language when he was 9 months old.
One day when he was 12 months old I went
to collect him from kindy. Normally his 11 year old brother
comes along to collect him but on this particular day he
didn’t come. When I arrived bubby looked at me and signed
“Mum Where’s Brother”. I was so amazed, I would never of
known he was thinking that without sign language.
He is now 16 Months old and can sign 20+
words. Often he will sign something and I think wow I didn’t
know he was thinking that."
