Hi everyone, and a happy belated Australia Day!!

I hope you all had a great day celebrating with your family and friends.

A New Year and a time for New Years resolutions. As I have said before it is never too late to introduce baby sign language into your home and reap the benefits. Whether your baby is a newborn, a toddler, has communication difficulties or has been adopted from overseas, these are just a handful of examples where baby sign language can help you and your baby.

So why not add baby sign language to your list of New Years resolutions and I look forward to hearing your progress and signing stories :)

Monthly Article Section:

This month, we look at the use of baby sign to help ease adoption frustration for international babies. Adopting a child can be difficult enough in itself but having a spoken language barrier is one more thing to worry about that baby sign can really help with.

Your Stories:

"As a foreign languages teacher and as a dedicated aunt to three nephews who had all learnt to sign before they could speak, I had always planned to sign with my son Matthew, who was born 6.5 weeks prematurely.

I began signing eat, milk, all done and a few animals like bird, dog and cat when he was about 7 months old and finally at 13 months he has begun signing back to me.

His favorite is bird but he also signs milk and all done quite happily. It is so wonderful to see him communicating with me and I am more determined than ever to use more signs with him for sleep, animals and also fun things like car, plane, bus, truck.

Thanks for your encouragement with baby signing""

Regards,
